Last updated: 6 October 2026

This policy explains how ADAM ONLINE VENTURES LTD ("we", "us"), which runs the Green Tech Boutique online shop, collects and uses your personal data. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our use of cookies is explained in our Cookie policy.

Customers in France and the EU: the EU GDPR also applies to you. Please read the French version of this page (choose "Français" in the language selector).

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is ADAM ONLINE VENTURES LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17438475, registered office 6 Norlington Road, London, England, E11 4BG, United Kingdom.

For any question about your personal data, or to use your rights, write to us through our Contact page or by email at contact@green-tech-boutique.fr (mention "Privacy"), or write to us at our registered office.

2. What data we collect

  • Identity and contact details: name, delivery and billing address, email address and, if you give it, phone number.
  • Order data: products bought, prices, order history, returns, warranty claims and messages with us.
  • Payment data: payment method used, payment status and transaction references. Card details are handled by our payment provider Stripe: we do not see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: the emails you send us, including those prepared with the form on our Contact page.
  • Technical data: IP address, date and time of access, pages requested and browser type, recorded in our server logs for security and to keep the site working.

Your basket is stored only in your browser (local storage) and is not sent to us before you pay. Our shop has no customer accounts and uses no analytics or advertising cookies (see our Cookie policy).

We get this data from you when you place an order or contact us, and from our payment and delivery providers when they handle your order. Our shop is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

3. Why we use your data and our legal basis

PurposeLegal basis (UK GDPR article 6)
Taking, delivering and supporting your order; handling cancellations, returns and warranty claimsPerformance of a contract
Keeping accounting and tax records; product safety recalls; answering lawful requests from authoritiesLegal obligation
Preventing fraud and keeping our shop, server and payments secureLegitimate interests
Answering your questions and complaintsLegitimate interests, or performance of a contract

We do not send marketing emails and we have no newsletter. The only emails you receive from us are about your order or your requests. If this changes, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it, and every marketing email will let you unsubscribe.

You do not have to give us your data, but we need your contact, delivery and payment details to process your order.

We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Our payment provider uses automated fraud checks on payments.

4. Who we share it with

We only share what is needed, with:

  • IONOS (IONOS SARL, Sarreguemines, France), our hosting provider, which provides the server our website runs on; the server and the data on it are hosted in Spain (European Union);
  • Stripe, our payment provider, to take your payment, send the payment confirmation email and prevent fraud. For some activities (such as fraud prevention and its own legal duties) Stripe acts as a separate controller under its own privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy;
  • delivery companies, to deliver your order and handle returns;
  • our email provider, to receive your messages and reply to you;
  • our accountants and legal advisers, and public authorities when the law requires it.

We never sell your personal data.

5. Transfers outside the UK

Some of our providers process data outside the UK (for example in the European Economic Area or the USA, in the case of Stripe). We only transfer data to countries that the UK recognises as giving adequate protection, or with appropriate safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us to get more information about these safeguards.

Our website server is hosted by IONOS in a data centre in Spain, in the European Union. The UK recognises the EU/EEA as giving adequate protection for personal data.

6. How long we keep it

  • Orders, invoices and accounting records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required by UK company and tax law.
  • Messages and claims: for as long as needed to deal with them, then for the time a legal claim could be made (up to six years).
  • Server logs: for a limited time, as needed to keep the site secure.
  • Basket: kept in your browser until you empty it or clear this site's data.
  • Payment data: kept by Stripe under its own legal duties. We do not keep full card numbers.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data and receive a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted, in some cases;
  • restrict the use of your data, in some cases;
  • object to the use of your data based on our legitimate interests, and at any time to direct marketing;
  • receive the data you gave us in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To use your rights, write to us through our Contact page or by email at contact@green-tech-boutique.fr. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within one month. This is free in most cases.

If you are not happy with how we use your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, helpline 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.

8. Security

We use secure (HTTPS) connections, restrict access to our server, and have payments handled on the secure payment page of our payment provider Stripe. We limit access to your data to the people who need it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make important changes, we will tell you on this page or by email.
